Our Founding & Founders
A founding story born from a real need
Sudanese Council Institute (SCI) was founded on 01.03.2022 in India, born from a simple but urgent observation: newly arrived international students needed more than a classroom — they needed a bridge. Many talented young people arrived in India full of ambition and ready to pursue their college education, yet found themselves held back not by ability, but by language. Understanding lectures, writing assignments, sitting for entrance and college examinations, and simply navigating everyday life in a new country all depended on a level of English confidence that traditional institutions were not built to provide quickly or affordably. From that need, SCI began as a small, focused initiative: to teach practical, immediately usable English to Sudanese and other international students settling into life and study in India. What started as informal lessons among a close community of learners quickly grew into a structured programme combining English instruction, examination preparation, and cultural orientation — helping students not only pass their college examinations, but adjust with confidence to a new academic system, a new culture, and a new chapter of their lives. Since its founding, SCI has stayed true to that original mission while steadily expanding its reach: supporting learners at every level, from complete beginners to those preparing for advanced coursework, and building a learning community that continues to grow well beyond its first classroom.
